In 1986 training began for sensei Donna Haskett at the Bolton, Ontario JKA Dojo. Under the guidance of Sensei Ian Fung and Sensei Frank Woonatai, Sensei Donna achieved the rank of 1st Kyu/3rd brown belt, at which point she began to teacher assist.
Moving to Mississauga brought many changes, but training continued at the Mississauga JKA (Japan Karate Association). It was here that Sensei Donna was to acquire her 1st and eventually 2nd Dan/black belts, official coaching and instructor's certifications.

She was
graded to sandan/third degree black belt in September of 2004 by Master Tanaka of the JKA
and is honoured to offer and conduct classes in her own Dojo.
Sensei Donna also passed her exam for level 1 Zen Yoga instructor in Vermont on September 10, 2006.
Sensei Donna is a retired Massage Therapist, and is proud to be an active member of the Rockwood Eramosa Business Association (REBA), promoting local business growth. Finally after 13 years, Sensei Donna’s training has come full circle.
"I can remember well how I felt as a beginner in Traditional Karate, everything was so exciting and I just wanted to learn more and more. Since my 7th Kyu/orange belt, I had a goal to become an instructor to share the wonderful opportunity karate provides for self discovery and character development. Now it seems I again am just beginning as the Karate classes unfold magically in front of my face each week. Goals are now outside myself as my students continue to display progress and a growing passion with each class. I am often overwhelmed with elation on my drive home from our young Dojo in Rockwood. I had no idea what I was getting into when I committed to the goal of Sensei, and I am eager to see what the future holds as we move forward together.”
